Engagement session in Marina Del Rey
Jackie & Neal, we look forward to seeing you again next month in Santa Ynez!
We’ve had a string of cold, gray engagement sessions lately, which in theory could be getting bothersome, but we thought the gray skies were sort of perfect for Jackie and Neal’s engagement session since it gave the images a very northeastern look. Jackie and Neal live on the east coast, and Neal has his own very cool sailboat, so a little New England vibe to these pictures is only appropriate.
We met up with Emily & Nate on a very misty morning at the Santa Monica Pier for their engagement session. But, they were such great sports – you can’t even tell that Emily was freezing her tail off! We always think a cute dress is worth the sacrifice. Of course, we’re not the ones wearing it!

Are these two the cutest together or what?! Sherry and Jed were engaged on the Manhattan Beach pier (and their engagement story is super duper romantic – think Jed secretly flying in from China and waiting at the end of the pier to propose while Sherry ran down to meet him…), so it was very appropriate that we ended up there for their engagement shoot. So excited for their wedding at Laguna Cliffs Resort this coming weekend!

If you can’t tell by now, we absolutely LOVE it when our clients come up with new & creative ideas for where they’d like to shoot their engagement sessions. Rachel & David wanted to show us around some of their favorite spots in Santa Monica and we’re so glad that they did! The decor at both Oysterette and the Shangri La Hotel were very cool and the gray day actually gave us some amazing soft light. But it was Rachel & David’s obvious joy & sweetness with each other that really knocked this one out of the park. That and Rachel’s rockin’ legs!
